Caring for wool and linen

Weekly
Vacuum with the upholstery head, cushions off. Rotate and turn the seat cushions so they wear evenly — this matters more than anything else on the list.
When something spills
- Blot, do not rub. Rubbing works the spill into the weave and felts the surface of wool.
- Cold water only. Heat sets most stains, particularly anything with protein in it.
- Work inwards from the edge of the mark so you do not spread the ring.
Bouclé is a loop pile — pull a snagged loop through with a crochet hook rather than cutting it.
Covers on the seat cushions are removable. They are not machine washable; a dry cleaner who handles upholstery will do it properly.
